    No.

    No.

There are other suggestions made early in the thread that will improve driveability in the conditions you complain about. But they don't address the engine's output, as you seem adamant about.

Either use 4L or regear, which all force you to higher RPM anyway, adapt, or buy a different vehicle.

Ya I noticed that on my test drive. Really Like to sit on 6th. But gave it a bit of gas and it dropped gear and moved pretty good

What got those changes in the dyno numbers? Is that actually a tune on a Tacoma?

Great point ! I would bet the math could be worked out to find out what size smaller tires would correspond to 4:88 gears or what ever you are wanting. Borrow 2(?) tires and try them out to see if it feels right . (yes it will look bad ) . then buy those gears. It would be better than choosing the wrong gear and having to regear 2 times .

true, u are gonna lose some ground clearance too and also take in to consideration that smaller tires are lighter tires and thus would give an even greater felt effect but it would be a rough idea of how it would be

Wow that's so weird, it's like you can tune a Tacoma. Good thing all the salty members were right saying this would never happen...

A "traveling tuner" who tunes encrypted ECUs? Sounds totally legit.

when youre driving around on trails or sand and arent using 4 low its hard to stay at 3k rpms manuevering around logs and stuff. i hit the trails for the first time few days ago... god if i didnt use 4 low, id burn the hell out of my clutch to get uphill in the sand in 4 high even. forget 2wd. granted i love the power of the truck in the band, but the low end is really weak, i think a simple remap and doing away with the atkinson cycle would do wonders for the low end, but that mpg would take a hit...
