Got a new windshield installed and it looks like a fastener is missing in the upper left of the pic. I think that’s the cowl grill. Can someone look at yours and see if there should be a fastener there and does the cowl grill sit outside (like mine is) or inside the other piece?

    Hope that made sense.

    Thanks

I just looked at my truck, the only thing I can see your missing is a plastic pop rivet.

Thanks Tim. I thought that might be the case. I’ll have to track those down now.

Fucking windshield people. I wont ever let Safelite touch another vehicle of mine.

Last time I had to have a windshield replaced on a 06 BMW 325i, safe-lite tech came out. I went and checked on him an hour later and he had called another tech to help. An hour after that he called me to say it was all wrapped up and no issues.

I went to do some maintenance that weekend. He had physically broken multiple plastic tabs. He completely cracked off the plastic anchors that held my fuel rail from resting on top of the engine. There was a single bolt put back in place out of like 10 that were removed.

I waited months for replacement parts. Countless phone calls went unreturned. Was a nightmare. Now I wont even let a glass person touch my car without me supervising the entire process.

Holly geez smith.p.sean what a nightmare.

I just called the windshield shop and they said they have the plastic clips, so I will go by tomorrow morning and get them. This is a local glass shop and they have done many windshield for me over the years with no problems. I hope it stays that way.
