Anyone know a mod for how to turn off the bright yellow running lights?
My Old Tacoma didnt have this feature. you could drive at night with the lights off(off road of course) and no one would see you.
    thanks

doing so might cause you to not have your DTRLs anymore...

    if thats what you want

im not sure on how this would be done, but im guessing maybe the opposite of the DTRL mod..or maybe you can just ground out the lights..but would then cause you to have no blinker..lol

If I am correct, there should be a daytime sensor mounted somewhere on the bumper- I don't have this on my truck but I remember a Cavalier that I worked on wanted the daytime lights taken off... All I did was unplug this sensor and it did the trick. No auto-lights anymore! But I'm not sure how Toyota does it...

no, the dtrls only come on when the headlights are turned to the off position..at night, you can turn on the dtrls just by flipping the lights off..

I think its a relay in the engine bay fuse box. Check the diagrams for DTRL relay.

what determines whether or not the truck has DTRLs? I have an 09 TRD OR access cab, but mine is mag grey, not black like the OP, and I do not have DTRL. And Im nearly 100% sure I dont have any yellow running lights when all other lights are switched off. ill check tonight to make sure.

Glad I have the ability to drive around blacked out at night. the only other thing that could used disabling is the brake lights, purely for sneaking around offroad at night.

It's an option. What determines whether a truck has them is whether that option was selected at the time it was ordered.

Pull the e-brake lever out 1 or 2 clicks before starting your truck.
