Is there a TSB for these squeaky leaf springs yet?

WD40 is what I used and I don't hear any squeaking since 6 months ago

So got the truck back today for the leaf springs. Opened a tech case for out and apparently it's an issue with about 5 or 6 states due to sand. No resolution. However they did call back and allowed the tech to order new parts for it to see if they can figure out exactly where it's coming from. Not a bad thing so we will see what they come up with although not the end all fix. Will update more when I return it to have the repairs done.

I'm having my springs replaced this week too, but for the rumble strip decel issue. There is a different part number from the original springs. I wonder if these are all the updated springs.....hence 2 birds, 1 stone theory.

Has anyone pinpointed where exactly the squeak is coming from? I thought it was the front bushing and greased it with some lithium grease but didn't change it at all. I have gone over the leaf pack and for the life of my can't not figure out where it is coming from! Driving me crazy!

The tech that had mine said it was coming from the rear bushing or shackle. His best guess of course which is where I thought it might be coming from. Find out soon enough if my dealer can figure it out

@Sensiman12 Thanks for the pointer I will focus there next time with the grease. When I am under the truck it sounds like it is coming from everywhere. So hard for me to locate.

Yah it has a tendency to radiate through the whole spring. Take the bolt out and check that. I'm going to do the same this weekend just to mitigate some hassle and see what I can come up with

Wait, they are replacing the leafs for the rumble strip issue? WTF. Is this a dealership fix or a Toyota approved fix?

I think there is a whole big thread on it. Basically, when coming to a stop the truck feels like its running over a rumble strip starting at about 25mph downward.

I think most agree that its related to driveline angles, but there isn't an official fix yet.

Hmmm I definitely don't have anything like that. I haven't ran across that thread just yet

Ya this. We will see if these updated parts and what not are the fix. If I get a TSB I'll post it :)

Ok so I went back to the dealership to talk with the tech that worked on my truck as I wasn't able to yesterday. He believes sand is getting either in where the bolt goes through the rear shackle or it's actually getting in between the bushing and metal at the rear of the spring. Should be taking it in next week after parts come in for him to try to fix it. Per the usual on here I'll keep all posted on the outcome.

If they're torquing those things in the air at the factory, I could see how bushing are getting ate up.

I don't think the bushings are bad but I agree with you about not torguing the bolts under the weight of the vehicle could be bad for them. It was a matter of sand is getting in between the bushing and the metal housing it sits in. I'll find out eventually what the tech says when they go to repair it, we'll try to.

MY dealer replaced my right front coil, struts, shocks, basically all parts after 3 failed attempts at fixing my sqeak.

    Sounds good & quiet now,

So dealership still has the truck. Tomorrow will be day 3. Southeast Toyota is essentially trying bandaids but they're not working. I don't give a fuck if they replace everything and the squeak comes back down the road. They said they were going to replace the parts but have yet to do so. Maybe I'm a guinea pig for a task fix who knows. I do know I'm calling corporate about it tomorrow. At least the people at dealership are forthcoming with everything and I can appreciate all the master tech is doing to resolve the issue. Sucks he's bound by corporate America

What you have to do is this, I took it in they said that's not a warranty issue. So I pulled my truck up to his desk and rocked it back and forward for literally 5 minutes straight until he said fine. They sprayed it with lith grease, worked for about 1 day. Please get a TSB people, keep filing compaints.

Ok so after 3 days of the dealership having my truck, they went as far as Toyota sales would let them. 98% of the squeak is gone but still there over bumps. Had a lengthy chat with the tech when I went to get pick it up. He told me they changed the material the use for the pads that keep the springs separated. So sand getting between that and the upper leaf spring is wearing down the paint and causing the issue. But Toyota out of California will not let them replace the parts. The cop out excuse?? Environmental conditions. So it's a half ass failure at 7100 miles?? But because it's not a manufacturing defect just a flaw in design they won't replace the springs. Pure bullshit, so I filed a complaint with corporate..Which we know isn't going to do much until they have enough of them. Do looks like new suspension will be on the way soon. Best of luck to everyone else.
