My eyes aren't what they used to be, so when I drive at night, I like pitch blackness in the cab. I turn the lights off for the gauges, but I can't find a way to dim out the touchscreen. Anyone know?

What year truck, which audio system do you have? Some of them have a day/night mode where you can turn the screen completely off at night, and there are other contrast/brightness controls. Press "Setup" then select "Display" at the top of the screen.

yes, does your truck have a manual in the glovebox? That makes everything a whole lot easier

LOL. I also replied with RTFM as well, but I'm having a good morning.

I have a 2013 non JBL (base touch screen head unit) and I'm 95% sure I adjusted brightness settings way back when it was new.

Caveat, of course, is that was a few years ago and my memory sucks.

You can both adjust the brightness or turn it off. I usually either have mine on, set to the brightest setting, or I hit Setup, Display, Turn Off Display. It does seem to make it "easier" on my eyes when driving at night. Otherwise, I never think about it.

yes you can. Settings -> Display -> Brightness -> BOOM

there is a check box for day mode which would make it brighter. Uncheck it and it will become dimmer

    Sorry, it's a 2015. I guess I don't know the different audio systems.

LOL, yes I do have an owner's manual, but I accidentally left it at my parents' house at Thanksgiving. :(

Great, and thank you, everyone. I will check it out after work. I'm an older guy and have trouble with even the most basic things when it comes to modern tech, so I appreciate the help.
