Is there any full-size truck other than Tundra that is actually reliable?

Have a friend who own a 2017 Titan crewcab S model ...just a basic 4x4 truck. No problems and 40k miles but he's scared of a lot of engines being replaced under warranty for cylinder scaring causing a ticking engine and hopes his doesn't develop it. If Nissan gets that issue resolved it should be good. Still favor the Tundra though as the leaking cam tower is about the worst thing but seems smaller chance compared to getting the tick. Plus the crew Tundra has that sweet back window♤☆☆

Don't know anything about the later model year titans. The older ones here had so many issues they never sold well again. I worked with a guy that had an older one...beteeen rusting out, constant wheel bearing, and electrical failures, he dumped it for a chevy.

What is the reliability of the turbo diesel engine options in the current crop of Ford or GMC full-sizes?

If size and reliability are top criteria, the Tundra is your ticket. Might cost you a couple hundred bucks more in gas each year than the other options, but it’ll cost you way less in unexpected maintenance over the 20yrs you want out of the truck....

Let's say it's June 19th 2024, you wake up and need a new 1/2 ton pick up. I can't recall hearing anything that would lead me to belive the Ram Classic isn't a solid truck in 2024.

There's nothing about the Classic that wows me, or would make me want to drive one.

The guy asked the question 4 years ago. I think he bought a truck already.

There's nothing to make me believe any domestic half ton is reliable.

Reviving this thread just ss the Tundra has become an actual ticking time bomb. I've only heard online about the engine bearing issues until now. My landscaper bought one new last summer and now been in the shop for 2 months. Said it's the worst truck he's owned. Wants to go back to an F150 if he can dump the Tundra somehow. No one wants them will be hard to get out of.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
Add to that the constant recalls and wallowing ride and a joke of a turning circle.
