No tint allowed on the front windows here in Germany, once a year inspection when you go to register, you should be fine though, its more of a safety inspection for lights/horn/stuff like that.

thanks. were you talking about the front passenger side windows? When you said I would be fine, did you mean for passing inspection? I have 20% on the driver and passenger front doors...

have you heard of anyone getting a ticket from the polizei for it?

From my experience, they're dicks about tint more than anything else over here (the on-post inspection guys) and you aren't allowed to have any tint on any of the front windows in Germany. I know a couple of people that got their cars inspected and re-tinted but not sure how much the Polizei look out for it. As long as your lights/horn/brakes/etc.. are in good shape you'll be fine with the safety portion of the inspection, they usually only take about 5-10 minutes so they're not looking too hard.

nice. i havent made it up there yet. i'm at landstuhl right next to RAB.

havent seen too many of us around. i did see a guy from ramstein this week in garmisch; he had his truck parked outside. awesome tacoma; 6inch lift, 33s, some other stuff. i approached him and the dude was a complete dick. just answered "yeah..." then pulled out his cell phone and walked off.

i get the feeling we're few and far between here.

I was stationed near Frankfurt and hung out with these guys- http://www.buschtaxi.de/ They do a big toyota meet/camp out deal once a year, have an offroad expo, and go wheeling in cool places like Romania, France, etc. For "local" wheelin' check out http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/angebote/driving-academy/offroad-park-nuerburgring.html
It's under construction now, but it's about the only place you can play in the dirt legally in Germany, and the 'ring is bad ass. You can take your taco on the Nuerburgring if you're into that sort of thing.
