Does the automatic transmission transfer case also fit on the manual transmission on the fvz fe v6?

I have an auto trans 4x4 and I'm wanting to do a manual swap.

I'm wondering if I could take the transfercase from my auto tyranny and put it on the manual to save money

I believe so, yes. The only difference, that I'm aware of is 4cyl Tacos had 26 spline input t-cases and 6cyl Tacos had 23 spline input t-cases

Was about to start my own thread on this one. I have a pile of R150Fs and manual transmission 3.4 J-shift tcases. But only one automatic 3.4 J-shift case (which was installed in my 04 double cab). Many people choose to run their 3.4 automatic transfer case with an R150F after a manual transmission swap. None seem to have had issues. But what about running a manual trans 3.4 tcase on an automatic?

I pulled some full service manual pages that seem to point to the two cases being almost identical besides shifters and indicator plugs. But I've also noticed some other differences. I haven't been able to find any concrete information on the internet regrading this. My best bet might be rebuilding the 350K mile auto 3.4 transfer case. Feels wrong having such a high mileage part on my clean 140K mile truck.

Has that hole and a shorter input shaft.

I would remove both those couplers and count the splines. The diameter of that coupler matters more than the length anyway. If it was my truck if the splines matched, the input shaft diameter matched and the only difference was the length of the coupler I would slap that on my "new" tcase and let it rip.

As for rebuilding what would you even rebuild on it?

Looks like I'm good to give it a shot tomorrow. 23 spline because they're both off V6 trucks. Same diameter.

As for rebuilding I guess I'd just attempt to do bearing and seals. I didn't mention I've had to jb weld around the fill plug because a crack has formed and started to spread. I have another blown case sitting around but swapping that half of the case would put me almost over the edge into a rebuild.

Can’t follow through with any results yet. Just realized the input shaft on this transfer case is seized. It acts like it’s in 4WD when shifted into neutral. Input shaft won’t spin in any position.
