Is there only 1 way to Wire Rapture Lights???

I really like my rapture lights that came with my truck, but I have noticed they are linked with the headlights via the Fuse box, but I really would like to have them come on when I turn on the parking lights (then obviously stay on with headlights) . I have watched many many videos on installing these and everyone shows the exact same spot to place the "Add a Fuse" .. so is there a reason for this, or is it just no one but me wants them to come on with the parking lights, or is there another reason?

I have looked for the fuse that controls the parking lights but no luck, I am beginning to think this is why no one has done this?

 

Most raptor lights pull very minimal amps, so you can tap straight off the parking light in most cases. This will of course turn the raptor lights on when the parking lights are on. If you want them on while the DRL are on as well, you can tie the two circuits together using a couple of diodes, so the raptor lights will then turn on with the DRL, and stay on with the parking lights. You can even have them dim with the parking lights if you want to incorporate a dimmer. Hit up @daveeasa if you want with of these effects, but don’t want to hassle with wiring it up yourself

 

If you've got the addafuse already at the fuse box you can choose another switched 12v source to have them on whenever the truck is on.

Prior to diving into these sealed connectors and crimping I ran my bird grille lights off INJ I think. This is a good thread with minutiae on INJ vs EFI for feeding an "always on with the engine" circuit. It's also possible to tap off several in-cab points (my poutlet1 aka the dash 12v socket feeds a high current relay for aux in cab switched circuits).

The big downside / headache to the add-a-fuse from my perspective is routing wire into the fuse box. And I think it bothered me that it looked ugly inside the box, even when properly routed. I just don't really like tinkering with OEM fuses and relays, would rather tie in externally and keep it all isolated. A lot of that is pure personal preference though.

I wish switchpros had 5 or 6 trigger inputs, then we could supply DRL, low, high, dome, etc on top of parking light and ignition and just run everything off a switchpro circuit for full auto and manual control options.

 

Easiest way to rapture is women of the night and boozin.

 

A question to ponder, is rapture better or worse than rupture???

Good grief.... I didn't realize that my auto correct even changed the word raptor into rapture,,, guess I am glad to give everyone a good laugh .

I just want my RAPTOR lights to come on when I turn on my parking lights,,, I think I found the way to do it by plugging into the fog light fuse,, I think that will allow me to get the results I am looking for. I will keep you all funny guys informed
