Is there supposed to be a cover on the transmission shift lock over-ride switch?

    Allows the operator to put the transmission into neutral without vehicle being on. Typically use when getting a tow when vehicle won't start. To allow the vehicle to move without transmission engagement.

    @Sicyota04 Unlikely, but, is there a chance there is a part number embossed on the underside of the cover of the shift lock override? Unlikely, because it is likely part of an "assembly", but it doesn't hurt to ask.

    @Black DOG Lila
    Do you happen to know a Part# for that piece? I’ll try to pop it off and look. @jnossoff is missing it.
    Might be able to get one off of a Tacoma at a junkyard

    I bought one of those little covers some years ago — seven or so, I’d guess. The part number’s in the file I’m sure. At the time the little cover was available from the dealer as a separate part.

    Fingers crossed it’s used on a number of other models, because a lot of the unique Gen 1 trim pieces are out of production and inventories are low or nonexistent. Seems like that one must be used on a range of Toyota models, which should help salvage yard sourcing.
