    Short version:

Went off road with my brother after installing Bilstein 5100s and OME rear springs, which increased my lift slightly (about 1/2" over what it was). Noticed before we started that my CV boot was torn and there was grease/oil slung all over my lower control arm.

When I got back, I ordered a diff drop kit from Revtek to try and get the CV boot fins to not touch. It finally came in, I went out to install it, dropped the front skid plate, and saw this:

Isn't that a diff drop on there already? I checked the bolt length on the Revtek kit, and it doesn't look any longer than what's already on there.

If it IS a drop kit, what do I do about my CV boots tearing?

If it ISN'T a diff drop, where do I put the one I bought? On top of the thing I'm pointing at?

I'm pretty new to all this, so I hope I'm using the right terms for everything. Go easy on me if I'm not.

Thanks in advance for the helpl.

Bump. I need to leave for work in a little bit and I'm about to the time where I have to put it back together or put the diff drop on.

    Thanks!

I installed my diff drop kit over a year ago so I forgot where it actually went but that does look like a diff drop kit already installed but I could be wrong. Did the truck come stock height when you bought it?

No, it had a spacer in the front and a block in the back, but it rode like crap and my wife hated it so I changed it.

Thanks. I'll put it back together and check this again when I get to work and see what my options are about the CV boots.
