Looking at getting a new set of tires. My question is with the winter coming up, should I get a dedicated set of winter tires and then once spring rolls around get a nice set of tires and wheels. This way I would have a set for winter and a set for every other occasion. OR do I save my dollars and just buy a nice set of all terrains and call it a day. The hive says what?

You're in CT. I would assume, you already know how to drive in the snow.

If it were me living in CT (I grew up in NH), I would just buy a good set of All Terrain tires and leave em on all year round.

Unless, you've had winter tires before on other vehicles and you feel you need them....???

I did that for my subaru here in germany this past year. Ended up not having enough for whole set of wheels, so just bought all-seasons once spring hit. Now I have winter tires in my garage that I'm not going to mount again.

If I had it to do again, with AWD or 4X4 in your case, I would just get all-season tires and leave them on year round.

If you're on a budget, just get AT's, you won't be disappointed. If money isn't an issue, go big or go home I always say.

Yeah I am familiar with the snow. I used to have to sets of tires when I had my VW but that was only because it was FWD. Last year when we had the unreal amounts of snow here in CT I had all terrains on my 4Runner and I was fine. Since I traded the t4r for the taco, I was wondering if I should do it differently. Money will always be a factor so I think it may be a good set of all terrains.
