Use true car. The lowest I got out of 15 dealerships in the va, md, dc area was 33947 for a double cab trd offroad with tow package (4x4)

    Otd is 35680.

I'm picking her up tommorow, and see what they can do when I hit them with 10k in hundreds :) maybe that will lower the price a bit

I would love to see the details on your trade-in. This forum can probably be of greatest use to you at figuring out what the trade-in is worth. Where are you located?

Go build one to your specs on truecar, click on local sales after you build it, and it should give you an idea of what "reasonable" is for your area. I looked at that and demanded no more than 500 over INV, and found a dealer to work with me.

You need to know what your truck is worth in Actual Cash Value...IF you have a CarMax near get a free appraisal. KBB Fair is a good starting point Tacomas are VERY easy to sell privately. What you need to concentrate on is the difference you want to pay if you trade.

. These trucks are not rare. Don't let the dealer say otherwise. You do not HAVE to buy a truck...The HAVE to sell them.

I had a 15 and decided I would spend $6000 more on a 16. That was my self appointed deal $3000 of which are options my 15 did not have..So I was looking at $3000 as my "depreciation". Manageable.

I had to sell my truck privately to get some within reach and Still had to make a $500 over Invoice deal to make it work. If I traded I would have paid $8000 in difference. That was not going to work for me.

I concentrated on the difference I wanted to pay. Not the new trucks price. I made an offer based on what I wanted to pay. BUT I have a great dealer and have purchased my Tacomas from them.

If you are referring to my trade in offers, I went to miller toyota, they said 7k with the miles, I said I want 10.5 rough trade in value as of 10/26/2015 on blackbook. Kbb doesn't mean anything around here. It's either nada, or blackbook.

Oursman said they would give me 7.5 k, and I laughed and private sold it after carmax offered me 6k.

Unless that deposit of 100% refundable, you have already lost your bargaining power. You have to go in there already approved for financing and work the deal out completely before putting money down. He's lying to you if he says he can't get you all the numbers right now. But, you've already ordered it so all this is really just a woulda, coulda, shoulda thread

I will put it on Craigslist tommorow and see what happens. I get the feeling they are gonna try and run it up in me on the trade in.

So the offer you would be happy with is $24600 difference.....IF your Trade is rated at KBB fair or Edmunds trade That should be doable easy. But dealers want to steal trades and offer auction prices making you take the risk they will have to send the vehicle to auction.

No dealer will send a good running saleable Tacoma to auction.

Selling your vehicle is half the battle. Then you can offer Invoice or whatever figure you want above Invoice. Do not start from MSRP down....Always Invoice or less up.

We are looking to order a dost dealers will take our 500 but won't make a deal before we order. They want to receive the vehicle and then negotiate a price. That's some bull shit

We have a few people willing to negotiate first but they are sticking to msrp or more because it's so early and our area has very few rare trucks

Ya, you're talking about a brand new to market, hot selling item. The deals will be more difficult depending on your location. When Audi came out with the new A4 in 09' I lived in Denver, but purchased the vehicle in Houston. Was the best deal by far even figuring in airfare and the drive back.

Yeah, that is what I am gonna offer $24,600 plus tax and title. Yeah my 05 is not going to auction. They will sell and make $1200-1500. However, gonna give it a jingle on CL and see what happens.

You should offer LESS than the deal you really want. Offer a difference of $22500 and place your top stop at the number you feel great buying the truck for. It is easier to go up from a low than down from a high..... Hell if they take $23500 Plus Tax and title, you do better than your offer..

OK, will do. also gonna contact several other dealerships to see if any DCLB's are coming in. The ordered truck should be in between 10th-15th this month.

When, not if. Put yourself in a position of power. If there is no when, you have bested them. If there is a when, by asking when you have ruled out any if. They can do you no favours;)

Gonna put my truck on CL next week-and I think it will sell quick. Then I will just be paying cash deal for the truck. I may have to ride the Suzuki Vstrom 650 for a few days, however!
