I started at 500 off msrp when I ordered mine. I did more shopping around around and found a 1500 off elsewhere. Took that offer sheet back to first dealer and they matched it. Nothing is done until you sign the contracts.

I'm assuming you are military because of your name. If you aren't, you need to keep in mind that you will pay more in taxes on the new truck if you aren't trading in a vehicle. So, figure that into your equation if it applies to you

The new truck will be in this week. (DCLB TRD sport 4x4 $36,200 MSRP) Talked to the salemen about the price on my tradein 05 Prerunner in excellent shape. He mentioned probably give auction price around 9k. Put in on CL last night and sold it today for 11k.
When I go up there this week with cash, I'm gonna try and dry stroke somebody. I'll be starting at invoice plus Fiddy cent.
In the mean time I'll be riding the Vstrom 650!

I just went through this nightmare. Here's what I did.
    1. Go online to truecar.com and get that price. For my DCSB MG OR Loaded, it was a $1700 difference. I asked them to match it, they did.
    2. See if they are running an internet coupon. My dealer was, got an extra $100 off.
    3. Had them price accessories I wanted. Told them to take 35% off or I wouldn't sign the papers.
    4. Financed $10k so they thought they would get some interest, they basically make money if you go through their bank. Got a loan quote from my bank at a great rate. The dealership beat it at the same bank! I'll pay it off in 1 year.
    5. I'm a vet, didn't get the $250 because I am not active duty.
    6. Ran auto trader and KBB trade in allowance and negotiated high end of trade. Not what I wanted, but realistic.
    7. If you live in washington, you pretty much have to trade in because they'll take that value off from the overall tax bill. For me, that was over $2000.00!

The sales manager was a real ass and said 2 things that were put downs to me, leveraged that to get $600 off my wheels (TRD Black) and KO2 tires.

I didn't do bad. If I waited a year, I would have done better. It's a bad time to get a deal.

    Hope this helps!

P.S. The dealer network within Toyota is the worst I've dealt with. I don't know why Toyota puts up with it.

Dealerships that sell asian make vehicles are egregious, especially the "new" sales departments. Used too, but the "new" department is the most aggressively offensive and brutally dishonest.
