    Hi all,

Is 42,957 out the door a good price on a Barcelona red 2019 trd off road DCLB tech & premium package in CA? Truck does have a few other small add ons like black lettering, black exhaust tip maybe one other small thing like that.

Can provide more information if needed and sorry if this isn't the right section to post this in.

    Edit More Info:
    MSRP Sticker - 42,422
    No trade in

A pro in my area is tagged at $42k. That much for an OR seems outrageous. I could be wrong tho

His price is out the door.
That pro still needs tax, license and all the other bells and whistles.

It's not great but not horrible.
What is the interest rate on the loan if i may ask. Negotiate on that... make them come down a percent or 1.5 percent on the loan.

Your out the door price includes about $4k in CA for tax and license. So, you're paying about $39k for the truck. Compare $39k with the sticker price. A decent deal would be around 3k under sticker. Some claim to get much better deals but they may not be in CA.

    Is it a 4x4? OR

I paid 41k OTD for my army tan 2018 OR 4x4 DCSB tech package, and all weather mats. Since your getting the premium included it doesn’t sound all that evil. Although you should try for a lower price!!

In CaLiFoRniA you shouldn’t be surprised

I believe you can do much better. How much more is the tax over 3k? Most every post I've read, guys are getting 10% off of MSRP. Including myself.

Hmmm...prices are definitely higher there. If you're comfortable with the price then snatch that bitch up. Barcelona Red, nice choice.

That's about what I got bent over for on my 17. No dealers wanted to play ball with a kid buying his first truck.

Guys, talk about price on line 1 of the contract in comparison to the MSRP. That's it. That's the only relevant number nationwide. The rest is jurisdictional (sales tax, license fee, dealer fees, doc fees, tire fees, regional surcharge, etc.). If there is a trade in involved, forget it. It's pointless to even try to tell us what you paid.

Why is that? I always negotiate the sales price before trade, cash, or financing is even discussed. I know this means I am not going to get high wholesale on a trade, but it is usually a wash with the tax credit on the trade allowance.

Considering the dealer markup and taxes, it might make sense for you to travel to another state to buy your truck. Have you looked into that?

CA will collect the difference in taxes on registration. And dealers here really only mark up pros. Might be worth traveling though to find a dealer that is willing to drop the price below sticker.

Really? That's kinda...well, exactly what I imagine when I think of California.

Better idea - Any chance of moving to a different state?

41k is kind of high. I paid 39,400 for the same truck but in a Long bed which msrp for $700 more. And it was a fresh 2019 purchased in nov. A 2018 would have been 1500 less but they only had black and red.

OT id say 41,500-42,000 would be an acceptable price. I would think being 5 months in to the 2019 model you would have more negotiating power then I did.

Try Laura Tan at Longo Toyota. I have purchased 2 Tacomas from her at prices nobody could touch. Plus they deliver to me in San Diego. I ordered my last one exactly how I wanted it.
