    Hi All,

I am on a tight time frame as I recently (last night) looked at a 2013 DC Taco/ TRD Off Road/ 4x4/ 6 Speed and love it! BUT, I want to get others feedback before jumping on it.

    Quick stats:
I currently have an '04 double cab TRD 4x4 w/96k that they'll take as a trade for $13k.
The '13 taco has 8k miles on it and is priced at $28,995. After lic and tax (before trade in), the out the door price is $31k.

*I love my truck, but love these 2nd gens as well. Yes, I don't NEED this new truck, but for the price, along with the fact that it's the exact configuration that I want (down to the color), I'm having a hard time letting it slip by.

Should I go for it??? Any opinions/ constructive critisizm is welcomed. Or, if anyone made the jump (1st -> 2nd gen), I'd love to hear about it!
    Thanks!

Picking up my 2014 DCSB TRD OR Auto 4x4 today for 31,700. Me personally, I would go for a brand new one for a little bit more without any miles.

    I'm broke?
I was in a similar situation to you two weeks ago! I knew I wanted a 2nd gen but just wasn't sure on how new of a 2nd gen I should buy. I was considering model years 2009-2013. Basically, it all came down to money(big surprise!)

The price for a 2013 is very reasonable, considering how well our Tacomas hold their value. The price difference between say a 2010 vs 2013 is not significantly more. Probably a couple thousand dollar difference. However, one aspect of buying a newer truck that many people forget about is higher insurance premiums. I would definitely get a quote from your insurance company on the 2013. The higher insurance premium, and new car payments can really add up if you're not planning for it. Lol But, if money is no issue, then go get a new truck!

You must have a healthy pay-off on your 04, for it to be $31k out the door. You should only be paying taxes on $15,995 (trade difference)

I paid 33 otd for my 2013 New so 31,500 for used with trade in seems quite high to me. I would talk them down or wait. Especially since the 2014's are now starting to show up.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
If your truck runs well....don't do it. Take your money and sock it away. You want a 2020 Tacoma, anyway.

He must already have payments. If he's paying $31k out the door, and they are giving him $13k on a $28,995.00 price. Trade diff of $15995.00
He must have payoff of $13k to $14k on his 04.

Ya that's about right, $13k offered on trade (even with minor ding/dents and a broken windshield)- my '04 is payed off and title in my name. Financed amount w/$299 fee came out to $16,294.00, w/tax & fees came out to $17,285.64. I think that's probably the part to work on if anything.

You need to offer the true car pricing amount! USAA! Wait one! BRB

$29,792 is USAA tru car pricing for the 13 with zero miles. I would offer them $27,500 to settle at $28,000 OTD

Minus his trade of $13k, so $14.5k/ $15k OTD +tax & Lic. Offer them that and walk. See what they do.

I've had 1 first gen and 2 second gens. I would keep your truck unless it has any bad issues.

It is a good price for them, not you. Based on what you wrote you are giving them your truck for free. Have them knock off the price of your truck, 13000, and make the out the door price 18000 and then the price would be more in line.

The bottom line is the dealerships are in it to make money. These trucks tend to fly off the lot, so they don't have to budge too much on the numbers for you because if you don't buy it today, someone else will tomorrow. Supply and demand.

I love everything about my '06 Tacoma, except its black!

Every speck of dirt or dust on it stands out, when the truck is washed it looks awesome! After two days its dirty all over again.

If I could do it over again I would avoid black.
