Is this a tracker?

Anyone ever see one of these on your windshield after a service, or from anywhere else?

 

Yes, appears to be FBI issued.

 

Is it magnetic? Looks like one of those magnet gun mounts to me with no reference on how big it is.

 

Are there any inconspicuous vans outside your house that look like this?

I wonder if the body shop put it there when touching up the bumper cover.

 

You'll find those on Toyotas sold in the Southeast. Something to do with inventory tracking. Kinda like a mattress tag, if you remove it, you're as good as dead. Word on the street is they'll send extended warranty salesmen to your home, send non-stop trade-in mail offers, and call once a quarter to give you a less-than ideal buy-back offer.

I wonder if it's a temporary tracking device for the shop while its there, maybe they track the location and status of the vehicle with it....

Maybe do a Kohberger, and throw it into the Snake River just to be safe.
