Is this amount of corrosion normal inside the spindle?

So I had my a big chunk of my passenger side suspension (LCA/UCA/hub/spindle/linkage, etc) replaced at a dealership in Nov of 2021, as a result of misadventure. More recently, I continued to demonstrate my lack of off-road driving skill and bent same said spindle/knuckle. I replaced it myself this time and the one that was on there has 6 months and around 7k miles on it, including quite a bit of wheeling. I live in WA and we had more snow/salt/sand this winter than normal.

Is this amount of corrosion normal? Should I be doing something about this? Do I need more heavy duty seals here? The passenger side is now brand new but I assume the driver side looks equally bad.

Looks like harmless surface rust, if anything I'm surprised it isn't worse if you live where salt Is used.

Ok, I guess I was expecting not to see anything since it was only 6 months old, my driver's side is original as far as I know (I bought the truck used).
