Located in NE, to me it looks solid. Guy wants 21k for it, truck is really low mileage but for the price would want to make sure this frame looks solid. Thanks in advance

I wouldn't buy it and expect to keep it forever. The frame is kinda rusty IMO and I would find something else unless it was a really good deal. You can see where the frame is swollen between the layers. I don't have salted roads in my area though so what do I know.

There are a couple areas starting to delaminate and someone has already painted over some of the rust. I'd walk unless you examine it VERY carefully including the underside, some of that rust is getting pretty aggressive. It wasn't taken care of and looks like it's a paint and flip job, not a taken care of during it's life truck.

In the end, it always comes down to price, if they want top dollar then it's a walk, if they are asking a reasonable price for condition then it something to dicker over as long as you are aware you'll need to do some maintenance work on the frame sooner rather then later.

The rust under the cab by the drain hole plugs is pretty spooky.

No way in hell I'd pay 21K for that. Plan on 5 years life, tops. I live in Maine, and we are on a first-name basis with rust. Not telling anyone what to do, but 'twere me, I'd walk away. Miles don't hurt these trucks, but rust sure does.

In my humble opinion, having lived for 60 years in the rust-hole capital of the world (Maine), that truck's frame is too far gone to fix. Rust is like rats and icebergs, you only ever see 10% at the max. I'd advise the OP to walk away.

yep, it’s exactly at that point where I would expect it to accelerate very quickly over the next couple of years

Not sure what miles has to do with rust.

He can want 21k as much as he wants. Good for him. I want to win the lottery too.

If he wanted 21k, he would've taken the steps necessary to prevent that rust. Looks like he did not. His problem.

Mine was not, is not 21k, and does not have rust like that.

The OP said it was low mileage. My point is that high mileage is better than high rust, that's all. Didn't mean to start an argument. I really don't give a shit one way or the other.

The bottom of the C channel looks like a nice flaky pastry crust where the crossmember is & the through bolt....

One would assume.... As far as I know, NE is Nebraska. There aren't any Canadian provinces with that abbreviation.

    4 run, 2 don't
I was going to say pass, too many trucks exist without any rust.

This was before I read "guy wants 21k"....I was under the impression of $6-10k.
