Im suprised the Tacoma took so long to turn. He turned at the last second, he couldn't see that car coming from further up ahead?

the other car may have just popped into his lane the Tacoma makes it kinda hard to see just how long the other car was in his lane before he moved. but at the same time you also would not be expecting some to hit you like that either.

But i quess that is why my dad all ways said assume very one else on the road is stupid and be ready for some to do some thing stupid. got to say thinking like that has saved me more then once.

Why is it the cops fault when he got hit by a drunk driver who chose to act irresponsibly and put the live's of everyone on that road in danger by driving the wrong way down the road?

    Don't drink and drive.

The way I see it, patrol car wasn't following to close/Tacoma turned at last second to avoid collision/on coming SUV was traveling fast/ no time to react.

The Toyota was blocking the cops view he had no ideal the SUV was in the wrong lane until the Tacoma was out of the way nothing he could do it was too late.
