Is this bad? Looks like a missing engine mount bolt

Just crawled under my truck this evening and saw that a bolt on top of an engine mount (not sure if correct) is spinning freely. Below the engine mount is some threading and it looks like a bolt should go into it.

Is this a serious issue and what parts should I purchase to fix this? Sorry if the pictures aren't too clear and I can try to take better pictures if it doesn't make sense.

It's a 2000 Toyota Tacoma with the 2.7L engine and automatic transmission

    What year and engine?
That isn’t a motor mount as far as I can tell, maybe diff mount but it doesn’t look familiar. Is the truck lifted with a front differential drop. Are you chasing a problem or just noticed this while under there for some other reason?

Pretty sure that’s the transmission mount

Just edited my post. It's a 2000 Toyota Tacoma with the 4 cylinder 2.7L engine and automatic transmission.

I think it's actually a transmission mount. I did some googling and pictures of an engine mount looked similar to what I was looking at so I just called it that.

It's on the crossmember right after the steering rack (towards the bed). I was interested in switching out the steering rack guides into the newer style so I was poking around while under the truck.

Yep I agree. I knew it would have to be one or the other haha.

From pulling the same motor I can one hundred percent tell you it's not an engine mount, it's shaped kinda like a tranny mount but i have a 5 speed so they're different.. I'm sure you'd know if it was by all the bucking down the road that would happen if there was zero rubber in a tranny mount:laughing:

That looks nothing like my 2000 3.4 auto trans mount but I’m not familiar with the 2.7 trucks. So it’s loose? Did you put a wrench on it?

I took some better wider angle photos. The first is the bolt on top that was loose. I couldn't get it to thread to the cross member so I'm not sure if I'm missing a part or anything.

D304B8DF-7E71-438D-A302-428F9742476C.jpg Ok, NOW it looks like what I’m used to seeing, funny how too close makes it look like something totally different. You need a trans mount assembly because I don’t think you can get the nylon nut/guide that your missing separately. Bad pic but the large white nylon piece is what’s missing, and yes I just went out and snapped this pic in a whiskey fueled fury! Wife said where you going? I said, my truck, she said, Tacoma world?, I said ya, lol!

Thanks for replying. I totally understand the wife bit haha. My girlfriend kept asking why I'm always headed out to the truck.

I think everythings there and nothing is missing actually. I found the nylon piece inside of the cross member and it threads into the bolt. Everything seems to be good or so I hope.

You should be good then. That bolt is just a retainer in case the rubber completely shears off. Check the rubber for cracks while you’re down there if you notice any it’s a good idea to replace that. Do you have and forward/back movement of your shifter when you go over bumps?
