I've seen holograms in paint. It's actually not to unusual to see them. But my understanding is that its almost impossible to get them from a DA. They are made when using rotary polishers incorrectly.

I beg to differ. One can hologram by hand. You just have to be really good at it. :D A machine just generally makes it both easier and more consistent.

If you have contaminants on the car or pad its not hard to hologram with a DA polisher.

I did everything to the book when I got my Taco. 2 bucket, microfiber, and a bunch of chemical guys stuff and research ect..

Just washed my truck today and have swirls just like the pic you posted.

Kind of put me off of looking forward to washing my ride and making it clean

Don't let that get you down. The truth is, no matter how carefully you wash and dry your vehicle, sooner or later you're going to get some marring. Proper washing and drying technique significantly reduces the severity of the marring though.

Just like @Too Stroked said, you cannot 100% prevent swirls. Thats why you shouldn’t excessively wash your vehicles. The more you wash the more you will get swirls.

I have microscratching on my hood where water runs off the hood scoop when I drive. Water gets dirt and grime in it and it scratches the paint as it runs across the surface. It’s just life. Fustrating though.

The paint on these black trucks suck. It has been raining over-night and early this morning. It quit a hour or so ago so I went out with my bottle of Duragloss Aquawax and a couple microfiber towels to wipe the black off that runs down the doors under the mirror, door handle, and little window on the access cab. The black I think is air pollution that the rain picks up when it falls from the sky. Anyhow I notice specks of paint missing in several places on my truck. I drive on city streets so no idea what could be popping little specks of paint off. Probably should quit putting paint sealer on it and get it Line-X'ed after the paint sealer wears off. Or just trade it in. Now that's an idea!
