    This!
Nearly any vehicle these days, with any kind of upgraded interior/tech packages has a moonroof. I don't blame you for not wanting one, I didn't want either, but I didn't want the premium tech upgrade either.
Order what you want, you may also get a better deal, the ones sitting on the lot have costs continually rising, as insurance, taxes, space, etc costs are added on each month.

I just picked one up last night. Already getting compliments and question of how was it possible...
4 of 5 dealerships near me had no clue it was even an option. For my area at least, shipments with this configuration aren't being made until late January.

I thought the same thing....but needed to get the tech package and it came with the sunroof. Surprisingly I love my sunroof now...I always use it. Glad I got it!

There is a big misunderstanding of how the Build/Configure a Tacoma website works.

It will not allow you to “build” any configuration that doesn’t exist on a dealer lot already in your region, or is in transit to their lot.

It isn’t meant or designed to be an end all, be all, user configurable order option. It’s meant to find a truck close to what you want in your area and get you into that dealers showroom to look at it.

Man, I wish, with all my heart, I could get a damned Premium truck without the moonroof. 6'7", I need that damn headroom. Absolutely no way to get that combo?

Seems without a moonroof, the things missing are:
    1. Leather and heated seats
    2. Auto headlights (??? How is this a premium feature?)
    Anything else I've missed?

Also, unless I'm something, it looks like OP's linked configuration has the base tech package, not the advanced tech package.

Lastly, anyone know if the Premium Audio package actually does come with dual-zone climate? The configurator says yes but the brochure says no

    This ^

Doesnt mean you can't get it, but you also can't "order it" like everyone is saying in here, you can however have your dealer try to allocate that build or those specs. Toyota is a different animal than the domestics when it comes to allocation / ordering. And yep the region thing is garbage, don't rely on it, it only includes vehicles in transit or on lots and sometimes those even sold as I found out.

New to this world - best way to do that? Just call dealers and be explicit?

Just pick up the phone and call them lmao.... "Hi, I'm looking to purchase a specific Tacoma model, can you help me?".... "I'm looking for blah blah blah"......"What's the best approach here? Should I have one ordered, or can you guys find this truck for me?"

Put the ball in their court. My guess is they will try and redirect the conversation to settling for one of their trucks on the lot, but if you insist you want a specific configuration, they will try and help you out.

I couldn't find what I wanted, same as you minus the tech package. I went to the dealer and custom ordered one on 10/14/19, it should be here the end of the month. It doesn't cost any extra but waiting can be frustrating.

For the last 3 cars and 2 Toyota’s I bought, I built the car online, sent that exact spec to every dealer within 90min if me and said “I want this and exactly this, nothing more, nothing less. Please provide your best price.” Let them figure out how to get it, that’s their job. You may have to order it and that’s fine.

I’m in a similar boat. I want the Advance tech + Premium Audio + LED headlights but can’t find it anywhere. I’ve searched all of the Southeast and Southwest dealerships (moving to Vegas this summer) but I can’t find that configuration.

I’ll probably settle on Adv tech + Premium Audio and potentially upgrade to LED later myself. I’ve already seen some wiring adapters for making to switch to LED.

This is a funny thread, they have this production on auto pilot and will not pull a truck off the line just because one person doesn't want a moonroof but want all of the other items that come in that package. Toyota ain't a bespoke kinda car manufacture.

Would you like a foot massage with that? :D

Call dealers in your area and they can find it and tell you where it is or more likely transport it to them if you are a serious buyer.

Also great deals on 2019's. I got $8500 off MSRP on mine 4x4 OR with all those options and more. Good luck!

Yours doesn’t have the LED package or advanced tech package the OP is looking for, those are new for 2020.

You can always do a factory order from the dealer for the same price. The factory will notify the dealer is something can't be done. When I factory ordered mine, the combo suddenly became available on the configuration site. Also keep in mind that most salesmen don't want to do a custom order because they're motivated to sell what's on the lot or acquire what's in close proximity to them via other dealerships. If the regular sales folks still won't cooperate, start calling around to other large cities in your area and ask to speak to the the Customer Retention Sales or Internet Sales folks and start working with them. Some folks on this site have done this to get what they want, then flown 1/2 across the country and then driven their rig home. Keep digging and be persistent.

Ended up forgoing the advanced tech package for the regular. Turns out the Premium Audio also includes heated seats - couldn't find that anywhere online.

I was looking for the same exact thing 2020 TRD off-road technology package with options, silver sky metallic. No dealer could find it for me. I ended up with one that was a special order and for some reason or another the person backed out. They had Predator step tubes, bed Mat, tinted front windows, mud flaps, the paint protection package, premium floor mats and they threw it all in for free. The vehicle only had 6 miles on it

There's no such thing as special orders, dealers allocate based on what toyota builds, it was just an allocation that someone decided they didnt want.
