Should the angle on the diff be zero?

If the angle on the drive shaft leaving the transfer case is 4 degrees and the angle on the diff is 4 degrees, this is good, no?

Bottom of rear diff? No...you need to measure 90° off the flanges.

I wouldn't be too concerned about angles until you resolve the negative spring arch.

Thank you for all of your help man. We’re about to drive this truck 3000 miles loaded down. I’ve got less than two weeks to get it done.

I’m just wondering if they’re flattened out at the front attachment point by design? It’s an 8 leaf pack. It’s flat at the front and pretty well arched at the back end. Hopefully bob at alcan gets back to me soon. Anyone have experience with the deavers? Probably stage 2 or 3 is the way I’d go.

If it's flat, that's fine. They look negative in the pic...

Modern spring design is to have the spring flat under normal full load condition.

When they sag, it's usually both sides; so maybe like you said, "by design".

So thanks to everyone who sent me some advice. I finally got in touch with Bob over at Alcan and he is not happy with the situation, as the negative arch is not normal. After a brief positive discussion, he informed me that they would build a completely new pack for me and ship them over free of charge. Once I swap them out, I’ll ship the old ones back to him and call it good. Being that I paid upwards of $800 after shipping, I’m happy to have this sort of service from the company. I can honestly say that I would recommend this company to anyone looking into a custom built pack. I considered going to deavers, but I’ll stick with alcan for that service alone. Again, thanks to all. Y’all have a good night.
