Is this normal?

When you say "move the sleeve back". Are you talking at the light itself, or the wire loom going by the drivers door..??

Mine is clearly..... 3 purple wires..... Red/Black/White stripes.

Damn buggers. Looks like they change the wires every year, maybe more, depending on options.

Thanx @NoOne… I'll keep looking and then maybe get to using the tester. But it's gonna be hard with 2 brake wires going thru there (3rd and rear lights)...

Ack! Sorry, thought this was third brake/bed lights up in the headliner. Too many threads for me to follow...lol. I would have thought @caribe makaira would have solved the puzzle by now.

 

Should be a solid purple...no stripes at all.

 

Show us a pic of these purple striped wire and there location.

 

Hey, Caribe, you might have solved my problem...When I first looked I could not find the purple wire, it is right in the middle of the bundle. No stripes.


Here is what I first saw: 3 wires with stripes. Now that I compare them to the purple wire, these may even be pinkish..!


The striped ones are about an 18ga and the purple one is real thin.... (1mm) maybe.)

So if it's the real skinny purple wire, then you solved my problem. Thanx a lot man. I owe you one.
