Does the author of the comparison even know what "overlanding" means? To me, the most important aspect of a capable overlanding vehicle is a vehicle's reliability, but true that Tacoma's payload is disappointing for DC 4X4 (I wish it has at least 1,400) in stock form.

I test drove a Ranger Lariat FX4. It was way more than $35K.

Meh. Personally, I don't agree with this rating. Many of the points are subjective.
    1) I've owned a newer FCA product. NEVER AGAIN. It was an absolute flaming pile of sh*t and was constantly broken.
    2) The Chevy interior was sub-par and they didn't offer a manual with 4WD.
    3) Surprisingly the Frontier wasn't bad to drive. It just looked and felt a couple decades old... because it is.

And what is your point to all of this?
Demand what non US version? And why?
The Toyota is not perfect and neither are any of the other ones, including the non US version. Enjoy your truck and quit looking for justification for your purchase.

You could drive yourself mad comparing over specs alone and trying to decide that way. When the '16 first came out, I read the spec sheet, but once I took the test drive I knew I loved it and that was that. No regrets to this day. Decided to get in and test a Colorado once...once.

My point? Well how about Toyota making the mid size truck far better than the rest. I know they can. I've owned 7 Toyotas and they were the finest rigs on the road.
I think Toyota has got lazy/greedy and drop the ball.

I'm not looking for justification (dont need it), just looking for Toyota to be #1, like they have been many times in the past. And the Non US versions are better. If you dont see that... your just ignorant or blind.

The last truly badazz Toyota in the US market was a 96 land cruiser or a 85 PU. Thats not my opinion, it's fact.

I'd still buy a Tacoma over anything else, because I know it will outlast any of the others. But still, they have dropped the ball.

Sorry your a tool, and the truth rubbed you wrong.

How can the thousands and thousands who purchase Tacomas every year be so wrong?:crazy:

I dont know. I guess if enough folks do the same thing it's correct? Like millions of germans looking the other way while Jews were killed.

If I used your logic, the Ford 150 would be the best truck ever built. It's not. For the longest time it was just the cheapest, thats why thousands and thousands bought them.
