Is this particular vibe fixable?

    Experienced Taco owner.
Have had a weird vibe and cannot single out why it is occurring.

    Details:
    - 2” OME medium lift with full dakars and light
    racing UCAs
    - ECGS bushing installed (NO NEEDLE
    BEARING)
    - Driveline professionally balanced and
    greased and checked
    - 3 degree Toytec shims (0.4 degree diff in
    working angles after shims)
    - No CB drop spacer as it seems to not help or
    be needed
    - Tires are pretty new (<5k) and balanced

Vibe occurs 36-40mph and I cannot figure out why. It seems harmonic/parabolic in nature. Feel in TOP of steering wheel and in pedal. More pronounced when slowing or breaking slowly through that speed range. Everything outside of that speed range is smooth. The pattern of the vibration changes when I slow evenly with the rate of drop in speed

Am I stuck with the vibe or could this be coming from something else like the tranny? It seems to be most noticeable in 4/5th gear and at 1200rpms.

It is not my breaks as I just put new breaks and rotors on and it was there before that

    Thoughts?

Doesn't the ECGS bushing replace the needle bearing?

Yeah, I skimmed over OP’s list and missed that, he’s right - the problem isn’t from the bearing.

Tires are new? May be out of round or improperly balanced- can you get them (or were they) road force balanced?

Falken AT3’s been balanced twice and vibe is consistent. Wondering if gears in tranny can produce if loose

Balancing with an out of round tire will not help- was it a road force balance? The harmonic vibration may be caused when the vibrations from two wheels come into sync with eachother and multiply, then fade away in a harmonic pattern.

I had some Yokohama high speed snow tires that had this problem until I got them shaved round and road force balanced.

Tires have belts...and are date coded. I would take some air out 5-10psi go for a ride see if symptoms improve...

Is it at all possible the bearing was incorrectly installed or maybe defective?

Got a similar situation as yours OP but its starting at about 20-25mph. Goes away about 45+. Only started happening about a month after I installed the ecgs bushing. Checked everything upfront and everything is good. Waiting for my diff drop kit to get here and install it, hopefully that will be the fix

I recently install the ome kit too but with the bp51s. I set the front for 2 inches of lift and have the el095rs for 2 inch's in tbe rear...

I am getting a light pulsating vib in the 35-40 range too.

I have not done the ecgs bushing yet, and I have the ch drop spacers in and no shims on the axle. Figured I would start there and see what I get. My plan is to take out the CB spacers and try shimming the axle and see where that goes

Just want to jump in, in case shimming doesn't fix it cause it sounds the same as what I have going on.... Also, I have Toyo open country at2s with 25k on them. No vibes what so ever before lifting

What is involved with this process and how much? I’ve tried different PSI’s and different tires (brands) problem still there

Every truck is different, but the ECGS is a TSB must if you have vibes. Also shims are preferred over CB drop when lift is 3” or less
