I am getting a rattling coming from the front end when I am turning in the snow or ice. When it starts to slides, it rattles like crazy. It almost is like abs is kicking in without putting on the brakes. At first I thought it was the traction control but it did it with it on and off. It does it both when set to 4WD and 2WD. Is this normal and, if it is, what the hell is it?

Yes it's normal. Traction control program trying to regulate you from sliding out into a ditch or an embankment (not that it is very good, but I digress). If you don't want to hear it, then turn the program off using the switch. Tread carefully, however.

Does it feel like a grinding feeling? I get the same either on 4X4 or 2wd, if the traction control is on or off it still happens. I also don't see a indication light in the dash or hear a beeping sound when it happens.

Exactly.....it does it when both the traction control is on or off. It is almost like a grinding. Almost as if the tire is vibrating while it is sideways.....
