I happened to stumble on this one as I was looking for TRD Pro 4Runners... Look, I can appreciate a well built truck just as much as the next man and it is a really nice looking build, but "overland built" turn key ready... For more than what you initially purchased it for?

That's not the way this used for sale thing works. Like at all. Especially with 62K on the clock.

Am I wrong in saying this thing is priced outside of reason given the amount of mods it has and given the fact it is definitely more than what the guy paid for it brand new?

    ...stuff
He is expecting to get his money back for his mods.... doesn’t work that way. Should return it to stock and sell the parts out, will probably have much more success.

    From experience,
I do think it is a bit expensive for 2016, but last year someone offered $45k for my 2018 truck w/ 20k miles. I only paid $38k brand new w/o mods. That's not even having the expensive suspension that I currently have. Then again, I am in a hot spot with offroading rigs, but modded tacos are a bit rare in my area so a decently built one can fetch a high price. Heck, a used stock 2016 OR in my area goes for $28-30k so they hold their value. It has to be built correctly though as a lot of people here that would buy it knows what to look for. We also have four offroading shops in this small city and annual offroading events (mostly mud pits).

If those mods are what you would put on after buying a stock truck then it will still save you money buying this one.

Way overpriced with piles and piles of useless, knick knack junk. "Turn key" without a front locker or onboard air. Yea, I don't think so. More like Wrigley Field on wheels.

This is exactly my line of thinking here. Lmao.

Exactly... By slapping all of those mods on and attempting to sell it as is you have just narrowed your market down to a very niche crowd. That niche crowd may not even be all about the sort of mods you have done and I personally don't see a point in getting a shit ton of mods done like that then attempting to sell it. If you do the mods they should be done because you want to keep it not because you want to sell it shortly thereafter. Why, did he get tired of being a social media influencer or it didn't get him the clout that he thought it would?

The thought process of some of these people doing this sort of stuff escapes me.

There are a ton of people that would want those mods. They are top quality and it’s really a turn key setup for someone that saves in the long run. I have an almost identical suspension setup and if I sold my 2nd gen would be In the market for something just like this.

TW members in their head: I have guys offering me $15k over blue book just about every week. Tacoma’s are rare here. Hell, I can’t even pump gas without people crowding around and asking questions.

    Reality: nobody cares

Well what normally happens (at least in my area). They put themselves in a hole debt wise and wants to recoup the cost. Or there is something that is not done correctly.

Actually yes. Pretty common situation. Except for the offering, that only happened once. Most of the rigs are jeep in my area (North Louisiana) so when they see modded tacos they always come up and ask what you have on it. Lots of offroading groups with weekly meetups and annual events with 3 offroading parts within 3 hr radius. Just cause you are in one area, doesn't mean its true for the rest. Sad to hear, no one cares in area, pretty awesome to be in clubs and do meetups/bbq or even have competitions. Especially fun to poke the jeeps guys and rock bouncers/hill assualt.

Edit: these are the things that roams around my area (this is Kryptonite Kustom shop that builds these, we have two shops that builds these type of vehicles):66384221_2745774532119221_8964453073036509184_n.jpg

There isn’t a metropolitan area in North America without a Toyota dealership, and a Tacoma is priced similarly enough to a Honda Accord that it isn’t outside the reach of the average car buyers budget.

Everything else can be bought through the mail. I live in the land of modified everything, so maybe I’m less aware.. but guys that talk about their Tacoma like it’s a rare unicorn tend to be up their own ass about people being on it like flies on shit. I could see that if you’re passing through Podunk, but I don’t find anything unnaturally impressive about a basic midsize truck with a bunch of bolt on parts on it.

See previous post of what is normally in my area. Reason why everything including a modded Tacoma is rare.

He will get it, it's not completely unreasonable and we see lots of people looking for trucks that are already done.

Okay, yeah, that makes a lot of sense seeing it in that light... But still to expect that you will recoup those costs is unrealistic.

Ya, I could see that in Sacramento. I don't think there is a demand for it over there at that price.
