I just bought my '05 last month, obviously used but had dealer plates. The new plates and registration arrived today but the tags expire april of '09 WTF??? Its only good for 2 months? How can that be? I didn't check but did I just pay a whole years registration for one month?

Unfortunately, sometimes it happens that way. Since the registration already existed, you're doomed to pay it if/when it expires, regardless.

It might also have to do with transferring the registration to someone else (from dealer to you).

Did you have to pay an additional $20 for new plates also? I think here in PA they charge you for the new plate PLUS the registration charge.

And I might add - here in PA, these 2nd gent tacomas cost the same registration as the fullsize trucks do. SUCKS!!

Mine were the same, and they even expired. I got the registration in the mail though, and it states the accurate date of expiration, i just had to call and get new stickers.
