Almost every new car in my area has rust on it somewhere. Usually in the cross bracing behind the dash. Moisture builds up in the cabin especially late fall/winter/early spring months and the untreated steel starts to rust. I've seen a few that look like they are several years old they are so bad. This is normal with any manufacturer. Rotors and drums always do this as well

That's because it's the manual and not the autotragic transmission.

Mine had the same thing sitting brand new in a lot. Machined part sitting outside equals rust.

There have been some gems today. Mods shutting down threads, trolls running rampant. The backsplash could be fatal if you're not careful!

Oh deary me, oh heavens. For shame Toyota..... OP better not get a look at my engine, the whole Iron block has rust, and my exhaust well there's not a single un-rusted portion. Some real troll thread winners today!

It's not an 'issue'. It's not a Toyota issue. It's the way vehicles (all normal vehicles) are. Maybe you've never owned one before? Or just put gas in and drove it, never paying attention? First new vehicle jitters and first time actually looking at stuff? Dunno.

But your particular questions (this and the stone guard 'overspray') show lack of general vehicle understanding. Or trolling. Right now I'll leave the door open.

Nothing wrong with not having understanding, we all have to learn. But your posts take the accusatory tone, indicating you think you know of which you speak, and you don't.

So if you have questions to ask, just ask something like 'is this paint finish normal', 'is this rust normal', etc. Don't assume you've found a flaw and that you are seeking a confirmation.

Keep it up in the current fashion, and you'll become shark bait or ignore list fodder.
