Is this sound normal?

Just hit 25k miles on my 21 OR. On cold start I hear a slight whining. Not sure if I’d even call it a whine. Wondering if this is just how the engine sounds? Seems to happen in colder weather. It’s also 35 degrees.

Normal. Don't lose any sleep over that. Cold weather brings on all kinds of fun sounds and most are quite benign. Good on you to be cautious though!

Not trying to be a jerk but is this the first car/truck you've ever owned? Only ask because your profile shot indicates you might be young and never experienced all the joyous sounds that older cars make. Sounds like this one wouldn't have even been a blip on the radar back in the old days of station wagons and custom vans that leak a quart of oil on the way to work lol.

 

Haha yeah i’m 21 years old. I guess you could say I’m somewhat inexperienced with life in general. This is my first Tacoma, just making sure to get warranty work done while im still in my warranty period. Thanks!
