Is this the 2016 OEM Hitch wiring connector

he lists this as the 2016 tacoma, but then says V8 models only..... I think he was confused with the tundra, unless it is the same part for both the tacoma and tundra

If you have an sr or any truck without the tow package you will still need the wiring harness for the plug to work.

The trucks are not pre wired for trailer lights.

 

Yes. The dealer can get this part. It should pop right in the hole in the bumper. Very slick. Except it will be for looks only as Toyota apparently thinks no one would ever want to tow anything with their new 4wd truck! I mean, why in the world would someone want to do that? There is no wiring available to accomidate the desire to wire to a trailer. I have purchased a hitch but have no way to wire up a receptical. I looked at this too because I wanted the option to plug a 7 pin trailer connector. The dealer did not listen to a word I said when I ordered my truck so I ended up without a hitch.
