Cool thing is, the driver side visor will actually have an instruction card on how and when to use it.

Next, you ensure it has a diff locker installed by not only seeing the switch next to the steering column (the blank switch in the pic you posted, to the right of the dimmer), but also locating the actuator on the rear differential itself.

For 4x4 models, you must be in 4LO to engage. Sometimes though, the rear axle shafts/diff aren't aligned to engage, so moving forward while turning the wheel one way or another will get it to engage quickly.

*You do not want to have a rear locker engaged while turning on a high traction surface*

Interested why you think it has a locking differential? It is not mentioned in the ad at all.

OP is probably unaware of what the button is for in the picture he/she provided.

Yes, one could've easily googled the answer (something I'd recommend as well for something so easily), but it doesn't hurt to answer once in awhile.

The OP is likely going off of the pics of the bedside stickers.

If the truck had come from Toyota with the TRD package, it would have had these stickers on the bedsides. Since we can see that there is no diff lock dash switch, someone has added the stickers to make it look like the truck is a TRD model.

They did a crappy job too. Placed much too high. Should be inline with the brake light not the turn signal. For future reference @White TacocaT

Also should have this sticker if equipped with a diff lock (which it doesn't) -

Good info! I didn’t realize all TRDs had a locker. Ty.

At least the dealership isn’t advertising it as a TRD.

Not to mention that decal is way off in terms of stock placement. It’s too high.

Much like the previous owner of my truck who put the decals on in a bastardized place

I'm willing to bet this truck was in a front end collision of some sort, or the PO had damage replaced before trading in. The hood and fenders look off-color from the doors, the grill/bumper/corner lights are black instead of chrome.

Also, no thought went into this add, they literally listed every option "available" for the entire Tacoma line-up. copy pasta at it's finest (please just buy this truck so it gets off our lot!)

Pretty sure it was only when paired with the auto.

At the risk of starting a whole new discussion...

A TRD spec'd truck with the 2.7L paired with a 5-speed manual did come with the rear elocker.
