second time tacoma owner, first time caller

bought 03 double cab prerunner new, didn't do a thing to it but put gas and tires on it, was a new solo single dad and wanted my kid in the middle of a truck, it worked wonders because she's 15 now and not a scratch on her
it also served my furniture making career well, hauled lots of plywood and finished casegoods

sold the prerunner when i got a desk job designing furniture, bought a very fast car instead

fast forward to last year when my employer had me systematically outsource my job overseas
and then to two months ago when i was let go, so furniture making it is!
    except ... i don't have a truck

bought a 97 XCab 4x4 5 speed 2 days ago and i'm pretty stoked to be back
however this one's getting some upgrades, custom tube bumpers front and rear and i'd really like to design and fab a modular flat bed for it, with attachments for various tasks

i've already solved an issue with it tonight searching the site, and my marlin crawler shifter seat and bushing set are on the way

the plan is to search and learn, then give back when i can

    thanks for having me
    ~brian

    thanks amigos

shifter rebuild kit due on wednesday, super anxious to get rid of the wandering stick

also trying to wrestle these OE sport seats out of a guy down south of me
the seats in there now are awful, you sit like 3 inches too low
i took them apart and the foam is just defeated, i added some bolstering and moved stuff around but there's simply nothing left of the driver's cushions, between replacing cushions and covers, i decided to look at replacing the entire front seat set, format and all
these are described as mint, very expensive but we're working on that ...

it's a split bench in there now and i would very much prefer two buckets and a console
i build stuff for a living, so building a custom console would be a welcome task, plus everybody knows custom consoles are a great place to house a subwoofer, so yeah wish me luck on the seats please

once i get shifter and seats sorted and i'll be very happy with this new to me tacoma :D
