Lots of Greece on the boot of the tie rod. It drives fine but should I have it replaced? 20230413_111633.jpg

To me that looks like the seals on the rack are leaking, unfortunately. Looks like it been that way a while too. Is the power steering reservoir running a bit low?

Mine is similar but not as bad. See the drip hanging on.

I’ve never been to Greece or China. But I usually have dirty grease under my fingernails.

Looks like it needs to be replaced but I'm sure plenty of other things need replaced on your truck. It's always how much money you want to spend at that time. I'm sure it will be fine for awhile

Looks like it’s lower in the tie rod boot- I think you can get a Pisa that in Milan and one in Sicily.

    All stock, baby!
Clean up the boots really well, top off the power steering fluid reservoir, then just drive as usual, and check it again in a month. If the boot isn’t too oily at that point, I’d suggest you just live with it and keep an eye on it, until it becomes more of a problem.

My passenger side boot didn’t look quite as bad as yours when I bought the truck, but I did as I suggested above and found that it’s a very, very slow leak. No point in throwing money at that problem. I flushed the fluid and put a little bit of Lubegard into it, maybe that slowed it down further, maybe not. But in any case I consider it a non-issue for now.

The seal is leaking from India rack. You need a new zealand rack n pinion. I Haiti when that happens.

Thought I would update this just in case someone is searching for information in the future. I cleaned off the boot of all the grease at the time but then a month later I noticed it leaking again just a little bit. Once I turned the steering wheel to stretch out the boot there was a very small hole. I removed the boot and everything seemed fine so I just replaced the boot. Been driving on it a while and no more leaking and drives fine.

The boot is just a dust cover, your rack and pinion is leaking. You would need to replace the rack if you want it to stop leaking.
