Is this tie rod bad?

    Thanks. So if the rack and pinion is leaking eventually it will leak out of the boot?

    I had my brakes replaced front and rear recently. Brake master cylinder as well

    The racks on the Tacoma are notorious for slow leaks. If it’s bad enough to be dripping on the ground, then it’s probably time to deal with it. But I recall reading about a new OEM rack install that had some seepage on the boot within the first year. It’s an expensive enough job that it’s worth monitoring for a while.

    yeah eventually it will leak out of the boot. I would recommend the factory rack, aftermarket is terrible quality. The only aftermarket brand I would consider is maval. Parts authority or advance auto is the only company I know that Carries maval. But personally I would fork out the extra cash for the factory rack.

    Yes but like mentioned above I'd fill the reservoir and check each week and see. A new rack that doesn't leak or some monitoring. Any damage will be isolated to the rack that needs to be replaced anyways.
