Is this too much play in drivers cv axle?

    2008 Single cab 2.7l
    Hey all I have an 08 2.7l manual single cab. I was sanding underneath the truck and noticed the cv axle in the driver side has significantly more play than the passenger side. There is a click when I turn the wheel to the right only while in reverse. Is it obvious to assume the cv axle will need repairing?
