Frame rust is a deal breaker. Also $17,000 is a terrible price. I got my 2012 with 25,000 miles and zero rust a few years back for $29,000.

My 2006 has 113k and it's been mudding, beach off roading, and seen salts on the road and it still isn't as bad as that. Looks like someone never rinsed their frame from salt and whatnot

Being in Canadian funds I take it this is a Canadian dealer trying to sell this truck?

To me, and probable everyone else: it looks like it was never undercoated a single day in its 10years of life! Being a Canadian truck, the originally owner should be slapped for not undercoating it from new. If it hasn't been undercoated regularly it is very susceptible to rotting out. Even if she bought it and decided to undercoat it, it won't stop what has already started and in most cases it will only speed up the process at this point.

Tell your friend to ask the dealership for some details, as this truck might still be eligible for a brand new frame. If that is the case, then it could be an alright deal?

Frame doesn’t look as bad as mechanical parts and suspension.
Good luck changing a shock or something on this truck

An 08 with 103,000 miles for $13,700 USD doesn't sound like a bad deal, BUT that's a lot of rust so I'd probably still pass.

Yes it's about 13,000 US dollars, so not as bad as some would think. Hard to tell from the pics without taking a little tool under there and banging around a bit. Looks like mainly surface rust to me. Still, I'd want to look at the entire truck really closely.
    Cheers, Jeff
