It sounds on par with the current asking prices.
But you never know until you go look.

its close, yes a 2nd gen is worth purchasing, low miles really, 28k is a tad high, offer them 25k.

I'd say it's a little on the high side, but if it's at a dealership, which it looks like it is, then that's about what I'd expect. That truck is just about the highest demand configuration you can get in this area. Only thing that'd make it more valuable would be Off-Road or Pro package or a better color.

As a general rule, I don't recommend buying anything that's modded. Sure, maybe you're a responsible driver off road, but most aren't.

Unfortunately with used cars we sometimes don’t have an option, suspension mods are no biggie to me as I can always replace it, cutting and welding is often a no no for me

plus “low” miles one owner with all the records does have me intrigued

Looks nice. With the suspension work, perhaps it had different wheels and tires, sold separately, stock wheels and tires to sell. The shell is worth at least a grand or two.

An owner with good maintenance records is an owner who took care of the vehicle.

Edit: after viewing pic below……………socal trucks excluded.

At 28k you are getting close to the price of a new Tacoma? Might not be a 4WD but it would be new...compare TMC at 4.99% payments with used car loan rates and limited duration of the loan?

True but I’m only interested in 4wd (I go to places where’s it’s required) and the 4.0 is what I want, I can find 3rd gen Tacoma 4x4 for cheaper and nothing wrong with them (I owned before) just specifically want a second gen, gonna check out tmrw knowing my luck it will probably have a rusted frame since the carfax said it lived near the beach

The 4.0 has been good to me in my 06 Tacoma. I believe in the V6 so much that I am about to pull the pin and purchase a 2024 4Runner with the 4.0 V6. Last production year with that power plant.

That's why it's only a general rule, and not a hard one.

Nice! I've been wanting a 4Runner for many many years. Got an out the door quote from a local dealership, just texted them to sweeten the deal by $800.
