    i was told by my local stereo shop that i had to buy a $200 module to run any after market stereo in my 09 tacoma. is this true or are they just blowing smoke up my ass. i was told that if i didnt buy it i wouldnt have head lights tail lights turn signals and interior lights

    What stereo do you have now, JBL or non-JBL? I had the non-JBL (single disk)

    theyre just tryin to rip you off then. i had the same unit and upgraded everything just fine. just buy what you want and install yourself.

    You shouldn't need anything other than a harness adapter if you don't want to cut into your existing wiring.

    Just don't hook up the elimination "dimmer" wire! You'll blow the guage cluster.

    I have the JBL system and the harness I need is 100 bucks at best buy

    It's an illumination wire and it will be orange or orange with a white stripe.
