Good hip hop is still around, it isn't on Power106 or KIIS FM though. You'll have to look hard. OFWGKTA (the guys in the video of the OP, at least a few of them) used to have some legit stuff. Don't know if Earl Sweatshirt is still in their group but that kid is on a different level. Some good stuff though...

It'll be interesting to see where Don Trip goes. His song Letter To My Son w/ Cee-Lo has some powerful lyrics, especially for any guy trying to get custody of his kid(s). Hope he stays raw.

For the most part though I'm about SoCal Reggae/ Island Music.

You know Waka is a NON-rapping motha fucka but at least he admits he cant rap. I saw in one interview he said "I cant even count a bar. What the fuck is a bar?" Haha. I like Karma hell I liked his whole album.

Pretty much every genre is full of nothing but crap these days.

Living in a college town, I am exposed to a variety of extremely loud, "popular" music. It's all gay.

The whole reason that NAS said Hip-Hop is dead is not because of the new artist out. Most kids that grew up listening to rock and even the younger generation now can tell you who ACDC, Led Zeplin and Ozzy are. Ask a younger child who Rakim, Geto Boys or KRS-One is and they wouldn't know.

I think main stream Hip Hop is the killer. Wayne had some good stuff like 5-7 years ago but he can't come out with anything new. Drake is good he talks about real shit and my roommate found this rapper named K.i.D and I think he is fresh as fuck. See for yourself.

Public Enemy got me into Rap in the 90's. Is sad to see Flavor Flav nowadays with his infinite douchbaggery.

When I lived in a dorm last year, I could walk down the different halls on different floors and someone would be playing the same song on every hall on every floor. It gets old quickly. I can't believe no one has mentioned TECH N9NIE yet.

Thank you for pointing that out. I'm so sick of the 'n' word being used after the end of each sentence.. Before each sentence, and 3 times during each sentence.

    couldnt agree more...

not exactly the biggest hip-hop/rap fan but yea most genres blow the big one these days. most of my favorite bands/groups from years ago i cant listen to. this is why i only listen to my ipod in the truck. of course there are bands that are still putting out great music are just far and few between. oh and people suck for going along with this trend haha

Hip hop isnt completely dead. But i believe its on its way out. There are some amazing artists left and we need to appreciate them.

    I think RZA say's it best. R&B - Rap & bullshit
