Yeah, Classified grew up here so he has been on the radio for a long time. His O'Canada video was shot here in the city and a bunch of my friends are in the crowd scenes.

dont forget celine and ann murray! we unleashed them on the poor world too! haha

Funny about nickelback, they seem to be more popular in the states than they are in Canada. They sell tons, yet no one admits to liking them hahaha

There are far too many white rappers in this thread to be considered anything but garbage. Besides Eminem's old shit and like one or two songs from Mac Miller, there really aren't any white rap/hip hoppers worth listening to.

There is one white guy, "wax" who grew up with a few buddies of mine here in MD but moved out to CA a while back - he is super creative and used old school techniques.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I had to add to this. Very fine line between artists, and commercial sell-outs. There are still artists/musicians making tunes simply for the love of it, but also adapting to the advancements in technology (i.e. auto-tuner, genre blending cross-over, live instrumentation). But then again, just like every of type of music out there, we seem to be pigeon-holing these artists into self-applied, made up, "micro-genres". But as we further detach ourselves from REAL physical contact with each-other, we subject ourselves to being force-fed this media shit-chute of what Facebook and you iPad considers good music (LMFAO...need I say more)

I am an AVID music collector with a very eclectic taste. I have seen mention of maybe 6 artists in this list thread that I, PERSONALLY, would consider "Hip-Hop". Some of it is very obscure, artsy, emo, hipster garbage, but hell, if you like it, BUMP THAT SHIT!!!

Please refer to the following list to hear some Organic, rBGH-Free, Corn-Fed, Free-Range HIP-HOP:

Hieroglyphics, Souls of Mischief, Del (Deltron 3030), Babbletron, Swollen Members, Atmosphere/Slug, Aesop Rock, Can Ox, Deep Puddle Dynamics, Doseone, 13 & God, Subtle, Pedestrian, Immortal Technique, Eyedea, Darc Mind, Shape of Broad Minds, Illogic, Juice, Sage Francis, Gang-Starr, Big L, Micranots, Vakill, RJD2 (instros yo!), Blueprint, Wu-Tang, 2Mex, Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, AWOL One, Blackalicious/Gift of Gab, Lateef, Lyrics Born, Latyrx, Busdriver, Radioinactive, MF DOOM, Kool Keith/Dr. Octagon, Living Legends, Grayskul / Oldominion, KRS-One, Myka 9 (Mikah-9), Sole, Sixtoo, Visionaries, Shapeshifters, Talib Kweli, Mos-Def (Blackstar), Weatherman, Camu Tao.....

Thank you! This is REAL hiphop and i give you props for stating your opinion. These are some of my favorites too.

And someone stated that there are no good white hip hop artists. That is a load of bullshit. I dont know if you havent listened to any or just think that white people shouldnt rap but nowadays i would safely say there are more GOOD white artists than black. Race has nothing to do with hiphop.

very true. hip hop leans more towards singing than it does rap, which is more speaking. and it appears that generally whitey does a better job at voice tuning, pitch, and tone.
