Above is what the ARB website says for compatible winches. Did your guy's XRC8 winches bolt right up?

    OP,

I picked up my M8000 from Streetside Auto ($540 and free shipping). Did a quick google search for streetside auto coupon and got another 5-10% off.

Also if you wait a couple weeks Warn has another winch rebate coming up.

    http://www.warn.com/truck/images/1772/WARN%20$80%20Winch%20Rebate.pdf

So you can get another $80 back (mine was $50 last year).

Just throwing out another option for you, Alan

My XRC8 Bolted right up, but was tough to find a place for the solenoid (Think it would be for any winch)

Most winches should fit if they can be clocked and dont have an integrated solenoid.

Well I went with the XRC8 and I bolted everything up last night. I haven't had a chance to pull anything yet since I finished at like 10:30. I'll get some pics up later.
I do have one problem though; The controls are backwards on the winch controller. I was wondering if either the wiring is backwards on the switch or if the cable is wound backwards on the spool.

I think I had a similar issue. It ended up being either the 3 wires on the solenoid plug in side or the 3 on the controller switch side, can't remember.\

Don't forget to pull the solenoid apart and seal it up with some RTV

Yeah the wires on the switch are backwards. Yeah i gotta get that thing sealed, it actually looked pretty solid but I'll check it out.

Well yes, but the seal they have is likely torn up and junk. Mine was at least. I then added dabs of RTV all over as well.

I added the RTV to the solenoid last night and then I went and pulled a full size suburban out of a muddy ditch. At first he had the e-brake on and the winch dragged my truck a couple feet with the wheels locked haha. The winch works great! I am stoked on it.

That is what I was afraid of; I did not want to be using the winch backwards...The cable is being fed from the bottom of the drum and out the fairlead. At first I thought the drum might have been wound backwards but it looks like its wound the same as the image on the directions it came with. The drum spins in the direction of the arrow when spooling the wire.
After I had everything installed and wired, my buddies and I could not get the winch to work! We checked all of our wiring, re-did the connection on the grounds, and finally pulled the control box top and discovered that one of the three wires for the winch controller was unplugged. We re-wired as to the instructions only to find the controls backwards.

    I am interested also.

What fairlead set-up would be recommended with a M8000 with synthetic winchline on an ARB?

Yes. Go to their website and check for other compatible winches.
