this is a tough decision 5 grand off my 2nd gen or this truck. It looks like a great buy but who knows it might of been totaled at one time.

If you're using it for a trail truck I wouldn't be too worried. As long as the motor, tranny, and rest of the drivetrain looks decent. That would be an excellent start for a project truck.

Does it have a salvage title? If it has a clean title, it hasn't been totaled.

I wouldn't consider it leading him on, fairly basic yet important questions.

22r not 22re is a little weird. I had an 89 definitely had 22re. Older carbureted motor, a little strange.

U can always as for a couple hundred bucks off.. I'm sure they will go down a little.. I was lucky and my parents are awssome .. Gave my parent 1900 for their truck.. They would of given me it for free but I felt bad so I sold my decently clean 97 celica.. Dad got the new 2016 tacoma.. Truck was stock and I add everything.. Saving up for pro comp lift, bigger tires and rims but that's gonna be awhile..

What's that carburetor doing in there? Between the 22r motor and the solid axle, is anyone else wondering if this is really a '92?

Could it be an early 80's truck, maybe with newer sheet metal? Maybe a couple of trucks put together? (I had a neighbor once who did exactly that to replace rusted parts.)

I know it seems like a long shot, but I bought a motorcycle once that had been titled incorrectly as a '01 when it was in fact an '05. (That turned out to be a good deal!) so maybe something like that?

Not all states have a salvage title, and if they do now they may not have in the 90's. That truck is old enough you can't rely on that thought.

    From my state's website
"Wyoming will transfer branded titles for vehicles being brought into the state but carrying salvage titles from elsewhere. Also, if a vehicle is more than eight years old or was used for commercial purposes, then the laws of the salvage titling process do not apply."

And they only recently started issuing salvage period, before that it was either titled or not.

If you look at the frame pics, the truck is running the old 79-85 push pull steering. It also has the factory 79-85 skid plate.

This truck looks like a body swap on an older frame.

If you look in these 2 pics you see the factory torque link. By the 2nd pic it looks like the frame is the later 84-85 frame, I would need to see behind the bumper to know for sure.
