I'm entirely unfamiliar with OR/Wheelin' builds like this. I was looking around CL for a sub-$4k 22R/22RE beater for some dump and Home Depot runs and came across this ad. Obviously a lot of care went in to the build, but $25k for an '89? Seems steep to me. Is this reasonable for the build, or what would be a reasonable sale price?

Also, if you're selling a running 22R/22RE pickup in the Seattle area for around $4k, hit me up.

10 tops if that’s exactly how you wanted the build.

That's honestly lower than I was guessing since most of it is essentially new. Bet this is a case of "No lowballers, I know what I got" trying to get back the cash he sunk in to parts.

    Likely.

It’s done well, but not necessarily amazingly. It’s the Trail Gear catalog barfed all over it.

I see all the beat up decently built Toyota solid axle rigs for 6-8k, so I’ll give this one a bump for ARBs and all new parts.

It better be linked and tuned and caged for mid-teens IMO.

Personally, regular cab and the 89-94 body style are more dings on price. I was thinning 4Runner at first since 1st gen ran thru 89 for those (and I have a 85).

I think I'm gonna offer him $10 just to see what he says.

ehhh it's not worth $25k but he did put a lot of quality work/parts into it. If you offer him $10k don't be surprised if he gets offended or laughs, but you never know. A fat stack of cash tends to have a calming affect on a lot of people.

He will. I feel bad, if you take the ad at its word, he's selling due to injury and probably needs the cash for medical expenses. But generally the cost of time spent working on it isnt something you're able to get back in sale price.

Very true, and like @RPS1030 said above, it's really not all that unique of a truck for a SAS build...but a lot of the work is new and with some quality parts (ARB lockers for instance)...but I'd put it somewhere between 10 and 15 myself
