I've a 2017 OR with factory tonneau cover, tri-fold, and bed mat. When it rains some water gets into the bed. Will this cause mold or some other problem? Should I air out the bed, open the tonneau or tailgate, when bed gets wet?

I don't have any issue with my set up. I also live in Wyoming where your skin falls off from being too dry.

Mold needs something for food to grow. Mold doesn't really eat plastic, steel, rubber.... etc.

Just check to see if it drys out on it's own. If it does, you're good. You don't want cloth or paper to get wet and stay wet back there.

At worst, under the mat, you 'might' get some mildew.

But if you look at how the bed ridges hold up the mat, the bed can easily drain.

Same set up trifold with mat.
I get water also. Not a lot but it does get wet. 4 years in vt no mold or mildew issues.

Sorry just noticed. Not sure if 2nd and 3rd gen beds are alike?

I'm in NJ too. I have a tonneau cover and bed mat no mold or mildew so far. I was getting water from the gap between the header and the sides where they meet. I used black silicone to fill it in.

I live in the New Orleans area. Around here if you look at something funny.. it mildews. But so far no trouble with the OEM cover and the OEM mat. And yes when it rains I do get some water around the sides at the rear.

No problem at all, the cover actually drains through tubes from the side channels which keeps most of the water out. For whatever does get in, the mat sits on the stringers which can drain out the tailgate gap so the bed doesn't stay in contact with the mat. No mold issues.

Re seat your Cover... and make sure the latch "double" clicks by pushing down over the latch. I had water come in this weekend and I was looking to see what happened and I had moved a bracket in the bed and the tri fold was hitting it preventing it from closing all the way. I moved it and its sitting flush again

The saving grace is that when it does get wet it dries quickly as well which helps it not be an issue.
