Is Toyota Spying On Us?

This is crazy

 

Been there with the teller getting pissed withdrawing cash. I took out $15k to buy a car a few years ago, and they lost their shit. The branch manager gave me a lecture. I should have called ahead of time to make sure they had enough cash, blah, blah, blah.

One of the few things NJ does right...all businesses are required by law to accept cash.

Number hasn't changed, it's always been 10k.

 

Of course everything we share, type, purchase, or even look at online is monitored, and that user info is packaged and sold like commodities. And like most things, creating guardrails for that behavior typically lags far behind. So buyer beware.

However….I do have encouraging proof that Toyota at least is not spying on us. Note the absence of a drivers grab handle on Gen4. Clear evidence they’re not listening.

 

How are you posting, do you hand write a letter to a friend and have them post for you?

 

Just by posting they know everything. They don't need your truck data.

Man if someone wants to spy on me all day I don't have a problem. There are like 300K+ Million people in this country, if I am that special .. hell yea.

 

No smart phone here I use a rugged flip phone with no internet, no "connected" appliances or thermostats, never paid for teevee in my life. Wife watches some shows she gets off antenna. Got the most basic stripped Tacoma I could and hit the button and cancelled all connected services the day after the truck was delivered to me. Never activated satellite radio and thank God the dealer never gave them my phone number.

If I disconnect the battery or adjust for daylight saving time changes I have to manually reset the clock.

You can't disappear in the absolute shit show society has become, but you can make them work for what little they can get.

Can't opt out, because if you could, it would limit the NSAs ability to data mine every aspect of your life. If not directly, then by either buying your data from the private corporations "that definitely aren't acting as agents of the gov't, doing things that are directly illegal for gov't agencies to do themselves," or by coordinating with our Five Eyes partners to allow foreign gov'ts to spy on you, and then share the data that collect with the nsa and other state agencies.

These incestuous intel agency relationships arent even the stuff of conspiracy theory. Information about these is freely available with even the most cursory of searches. Anyone who shrugs off the consequences of the surveillance state we are helping to finance is helping rearrange the chairs on the deck of the titanic.
