Why lie about it, isn't the poll anonymous to all but the moderators?

I paid cash because I hate worrying about how much I owe and having debt. Granted it does add up because this Tacoma is a money pit due to being easy and fun to mod. Oh well gotta have hobbies. It does make me money with my contracting and normal work though.

Also Toyota Canada was offering 4.99% at that rate they can screw off. Little more barter room negotiating in cash as well.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Maybe that's true for some -- but not all -- I have had, and did my time with rental property, paid then off as well. There comes a time in life -- sounds like you will get there -- that a person likes to enjoy the "fruits of their labor" with no glitches to mess up that enjoyable time. One's health issues gives a person enough "surprises" later in life--without a older vehicle to give them more problems. Nuff said!

Valid point. I just turned 30 and currently targeting retirement at 50 so will see how my plan pans out. One thing I truly believe is that regardless of age, you should always enjoy your hard earned money somehow. Don't blow it all, but enjoy it. Never know what could happen

I had the money in the bank, so I just wrote a cashier's check for $ 41,000 or so and paid cash. I preferred that to paying 4% interest at the time. My wife is financing her 2017 Mazda CX-5 at 0.9% through dealer financing; if a deal like that was available to me, I would have gone that route.

She absolutely loves it. She traded in a top trim 2016 Subaru Outback for it. I liked the Subaru more than the Mazda, but I am a fan of the station wagon concept.

Ironic, she likes the outback and cx5, I'm pushing for her to like the 4 runner but she thinks it's too "manly"... Go figure...
