My fiancé is pretty leeniant on me spending money on my truck, sometimes I hope she says no because I know we shouldn't be spending the cash. She wants couches and I want a lift, tough decisions.

I think she supports me so long as I can pay the bills. Spending will be slowed to pay for a wedding, but I am trying to get little things done before the knot is tied. Got an RTT coming this month..now if a deer would run out in front of me or while I'm backing up I could get some Pelfrey armor

    What happened to bae? Lol

    Haha

I guess it depends on what you're getting to determine yours vs ours. I don't mind splitting a large purchase if we both intend to use it, like a tv or something. But if you want to buy something that I have no interest in, it's on you to buy it. I'm sure guys don't enjoy when women take their money to buy shoes and things. Lol ID probably go the route of having our own accounts and then one shared one we use to pay bills. :)

I save so much money now because my ex was into trucks too so I was always buying him parts for birthdays/Christmas etc and now I don't have to haha

Doubt it. He'd have posted any success. I figured he got killed by his woman for lying about the situation for months and losing a grand the way he did.

Doesn't really bother me if it's her money, not mine lol. It's just I've never discouraged her from buying any vehicles but she does it to me all the time. But it's my money and I've worked hard for it so she shouldn't be upset. We aren't hurting for money right now. I make $20 an hour and have done pretty well for myself considering my age. She works too, but for quite a bit less until she finishes her schooling. She has great insurance though through her job which is good because she's diabetic.

And not only that, I feel a lot more confident working on a 1st gen if need be, they are a lot simpler under the hood. I rarely go to a mechanic unless it's beyond my skill. I try to save money as much as I can on vehicle maintenance by changing my own oil and what not. I know this first gen will be a reliable machine and give me many years of good miles.

I am on the road all over the state for work so the truck will get lots of miles on it and I need to rely on it. I trust a Tacoma to take me anywhere I need without leaving me walking.

That's exactly how my aunt is, she absolutely hates anything automotive. When my Dad died, she became a control freak and tried to run my life. Gets all pissy at me for the amount of cars I have. I tell her to fuck off, I pay for my own shit and if she don't like it, tough shit. I love cars and the more the merrier! I love ATVs too and have 2 of them, my old lady has one as well. The more money I make, the more vehicles I will get.

I am my Dad's son, he had several vehicles too and is the reason I love them so much now. My aunt thinks I need to save every penny I make and only use it to pay bills and never have any recreational spending going on. She's kind of a bitch that way. I love her but damn, I ain't a kid anymore, I make my own choices.

Coming from an experienced divorced man, NEVER share finances with your spouse. Treat your marriage like a business. Keep separate accounts- TRUST ME. Have one account that you both put enough money in to pay for the household bills. If you do this, you'll fight less about money and you can buy whatever you want for your truck.

I'd have to disagree to some extent. I have also been divorced once. If you're hiding something as important as finances you're just asking for the dynamite to blow the whole house up when she finds out. It's childish to hide finances. A marriage is based on trust and communication, hiding your money is counterproductive. Instead have your separate accounts but make sure she is aware of what's being spent where and how. That way you can still manage your own money but there's no powder keg waiting when tougher times hit.

With my ex-wife she controlled all the money and spending and shit really hit the fan if I tried to sneak something under the radar. She constantly spent my money without asking which really fueled our divorce.

With my lovely wife she doesn't see the finances day to day but she knows what I make and what bills we pay. She also knows my debts and financial situation. When I buy something for the truck I tell her and I also tell her I did it with my own Refereeing money or money that was left after everything else, including our savings, was taken care of. That way when I say no to new couches she doesn't point at my truck and start an argument, she just accepts that there's only so much money to go around. Just my 2 cents.
